Tatum grew up in Los Osos, exploring much of the Central Coast.  His upbringing gave him a deep appreciation for the outdoors from an early age.  This passion guided him to the University of California Los Angeles, where he earned a B.A. in Geography/Environmental Studies. His coursework centered on natural resources, ecology and GIS. These academic pursuits led him to the CSLRCD Oceano Dunes Project, where he is eager to gain valuable field experience along the Central Coast.
Outside of work, Tatum enjoys surfing, hiking and camping along the coast!
