In 2021, CSLRCD was awarded funding through the SWRCB Nonpoint SOurce program to implement a suite of projects across the Morro Bay watershed that will result in water quality improvements, such as reduced sedimentation and nutrient loads. This project builds upon a planning effort funded by the Morro Bay National Estuary and the Resources Legacy Fund in 2018 to identify opportunities and develop conceptual designs for projects that improve water quality in the watershed. In spring 2022, CSLRCD staff began work with a number of public and private landowners to permit and implement these projects.
