Background: The Coastal San Luis Resource Conservation

by a seven member, volunteer Board of Directors. The District serves
the county South of Cuesta Grade. The RCD has no formal office, but its
records are housed at the USDA/Natural Resource Conservation Service office
in Morro Bay. Our most visible public project has been the $1 million Chorro
Flats restoration project near Morro Bay. The District has an operating
budget of about $150,000 per year plus numerous grant funds for capital
projects. These need careful fund-based accounting to meet reporting requirements
of the granting agencies.
